2. Why is junk mail called SPAM?

Spam mail is named after none other than SPAM itself. Fake meat is often referred to as SPAM which led to fake messages being given the same name. However, SPAM isn’t entirely bad–it was developed during the World War and consists of a number of meats but mostly pig meat. This was helpful for the soldiers to maintain their protein intake as SPAM has a great shelf-life and can be easily transported from one place to another.

3. What is that tiny protuberance in front of the opening of your ear?

Human ears have weird shapes, that is for sure. But, the shape is perfectly designed to catch every sound in its vicinity. The protuberance in front of the ear opening is called the tragus which lies close to a small bump on the lower ear of your ear called the antitragus. The name ‘tragus’ comes from the Greek word ‘tragos’ which means ‘he-goat.’ This references the bits of hair that come out from the inner part of the tragus, depicting a goat’s beard.
